SEANOP, Seafood Processing, Shocking and Storage Facility, was established and implemented within the scope of the Project for Increasing the Competitiveness of Main Sectors in Sinop, which is being implemented by the Northern Anatolia Development Agency (KUZKA) with co-financing from the European Union and the Republic of Turkey under the Competitive Sectors Programme of the Ministry of Industry and Technology.

This facility, which provides common use services for all enterprises operating in the aquaculture sector in Sinop, aims to increase the income of aquaculture producers, improve the aquaculture ecosystem and make Sinop a regional centre of attraction.

Started in 2012 and the project was approved in 2018, the construction of the Aquaculture Processing, Shocking and Storage Facility started with the delivery of the site at the beginning of 2021 and was completed in July 2023.

The plant, which started operations after the installation of machinery and equipment and the completion of the tests, was established in Sinop Organised Industrial Zone and has a total closed area of 10,040 m2on a 20,081.50 m2land.

The facility, which has 6000 tonnes/year processing, shocking and storage capacity, consists of 3 blocks:

Block A It includes the Administrative Building and Laboratory. The 3-storey building has a total area of 2.880 m2on an area of 960 m2.

Block B The structure consisting of upper floor processing area and lower floor cold rooms is 2.897 m2and 5.960 m2in total.

Block C: It is designed as waste etc. storage area (1.200 m2) and is not included in the project budget.
